Prayers & Hisbodedus

Talking to God in your own words

Rabbi Nachman's path of personal prayer — simple, honest, and within everyone's reach.

What is Hisbodedus?

Setting aside time each day to speak to God alone, in your own words and your own language — like talking to a close friend.

How to begin

Find a quiet place and a set time. Start small — even a few minutes. Say whatever is on your heart; there are no wrong words.

A simple daily practice

Pour out your thanks, your struggles, and your hopes. Ask for help. Rabbi Nachman taught that this conversation is the root of the spiritual life.

Personal prayer complements the established prayers of the siddur; it does not replace halachic guidance about tefillah.
